Wildlife Commander manages invasive and nuisance wildlife populations across South Florida: iguanas, raccoons, invasive reptiles, and the other species that show up where people live, work, and build. What the Work Actually Looks Like
A typical day starts early, before the South Florida heat sets in. Mornings often run along canal banks and seawalls, where iguanas bask and feed. This is the founding work Wildlife Commander built its reputation on, and it still accounts for the bulk of day-to-day call volume. Afternoons shift depending on what’s come in: a raccoon inspection under an HOA clubhouse, a site assessment for a new residential client, a follow-up check on an exclusion job from the week before.
No two days run the same route. You’ll drive between properties across the service area, talk to homeowners and property managers about what’s happening on their land, and handle animals safely using methods the company can stand behind. Every job gets documented — what was found, what was done, what happens next.
This is not a desk job with occasional field visits. It is a field job, full stop.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely manage and control iguana populations and other invasive or nuisance wildlife using humane techniques
- Conduct site assessments to identify wildlife activity and recommend a course of action
- Explain wildlife behavior and humane control methods to clients in plain terms — no jargon, no scare tactics
- Keep accurate records of every job: what was found, what was done, and any follow-up required
- Work alongside the team to plan and carry out wildlife management strategies across residential and commercial properties
- Follow local and federal wildlife regulations on every job, without exception

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- A genuine interest in wildlife and the environment, evident with clients and evident in the work
- Prior experience in wildlife control or a related field is a plus, not a requirement
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with a wide range of clients
- Ability to work outdoors in South Florida conditions — heat, humidity, and rain included
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check; random drug testing continues throughout employment

Training covers humane iguana and wildlife management techniques, safety protocols, and company processes from day one.
From there, growth runs toward more complex species work, larger commercial and HOA accounts, and—for the right people—a path into Team Lead or Account Management roles as Wildlife Commander's service area expands.

Training pay starts at $17.00/hour. After 30 days, pay increases to $18.00/hour. Additional growth is available as technicians take on more complex species work and larger commercial accounts.
